GPs are the cornerstone of Australia’s healthcare system and are vital to local communities. Providing high quality training to ensure doctors become skilled and confident GPs is critical for community health and sustainability.

GPTEC gathers together the nation’s medical educators and GP supervisors who are in the unique position of shaping our future GPs. This conference is hosted by a committee representing all nine registered training organisations. These are the Australian government’s providers of training to GP registrars to become registered GPs, recognised by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine.

GPTEC 2017 will challenge hundreds of participants to think outside the box, explore new ideas, and revisit current systems and methodologies in the context of the dynamic and ever changing general practice training environment.
